I would like to have my M3 DS painted with hammertone or black paint. Is there anyone in this group that can do it for a price? or what company can do this? In the USA only please.

thanks

If there is anyone in the US that does this well (ie. not in a garage with a can of Rustoleum), it will be news to me.

CRR Luton does a job that exceeds perfection.

But there is a long, long waiting list as I understand.

You might try a local auto body shop or go to a local hobby shop and see if they know someone who can paint small objects.

One other suggestion is to buy a small hobby pencil spayer and air compressor then practice painting till you feel you are ready to paint the camera.

Short answer is no. No one in the USA does this commercially. Lots of individuals have done this, some with exceptional results, but it'd be news if anyone does it for money. CRR Luton in the UK is basically the only option, and the wait is several months. Shintaro is really no longer an option unless you have connections.

Plenty of DIY advice around, though, with a simple search.

If you ever see a black paint M3 with the Leica script on the top in red then that used to me mine and it was painted by CRR Luton.

It was gorgeous.

Peter will reply to an email, it will just take about a week or two. I spoke with him about a month ago and his backlog on repaints at that time was about 4-5 months. Total for a repaint in black and CLA runs about $850. May as well consider resilvering the RF prism while your camera is there if the patch is dim, as Luton is the only one I know of who does this.

I will call him this week. I just purchased this m3 from steve in culver city ca. (about a year ago) he did a total cla and the finder is bright and very clean, does the silver do anything else?

thanks the the info
