Leica M Monochrom: best pics

Just traded up my Noctilux f/1 for a Noctilux 0.95 (what have I done?!), and tested it out over the weekend. This lens is going to take a bit of getting used to, as some of my results so far have been a bit hit or miss.

Here's one shot with the new lens at (of course) f/0.95:

Vince, Gretchen's expression suggests that's she is being told by the other lady: "And now he's traded his f1.0 Noctilux for a 0.95."

Congrats Vince and I can imagine shooting wide open takes a bit of practice. Love the OOF background and other OOF renderings in that shot. Talk about subject separation.

I envy you that Checker! And what's the story with Marion's church? Where is it? Who's Marion -- Francis Marion?

Ha -- If you saw the Checker a couple of years ago, you'd not be envious! It's come a very long way since I got it -- I know I have way more in it than it's worth, but it's turned out to be a very enjoyable car, and my wife has warmed up to it, which is important.

If you really want to see the entire saga of the Checker up 'til this point, here you go: http://www.checkertaxistand.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=1&id=10392&Itemid=110

'Marion's Church' is in Marion, MD, and is on the Eastern Shore of Maryland on the way to Crisfield (the 'Marion' is Marion Horsey, the daughter of John C. Horsey, who helped put Marion on the map). It's a fairly isolated area, and the area really hasn't changed much (at least since I moved to Maryland in '96). A very interesting area to visit, and surely a lot of photo opportunities.
