Leica M Monochrom: best pics

Feeling a bit guilty haven't been able to shoot more lately, I'll try to wake up early tomorrow hoping to get more shots. By far, the most rewarding experience is still with the RF. Here's one I took the other day.

This one really rocks Dave. I haven't been shooting much for me the past couple of months. Plan on it as soon as work slows down a bit.

My MM came back last Thursday, just in time to go to London with me. It had been adjusted & cleaned (including the sensor) and pronounced OK by the factory.

All these are wit my Canon 50mm f1.4 ltm on a genuine Leitz adapter

Members room at Tate Britain - I just liked the way the light played around all the curves and surfaces

A statue in the Tate (I will have to look up the sculptor) reminds me of Jacob Epstein (but is not) - looking to capture some of the surfaces & reflections

We spent some time at the Chelsea Physic Garden too, so I inspected the teasels while my wife was busy elsewhere

I'm a happy bunny again 😀

Xdayv,

Thanks - it's probably the best frame I have managed yet from the MM. I'm trying hard to get up to the standards of others on this page - Michael, Allen, Vince and yourself included

It was nice that the sensor was cleaned at the factory , it saved me a job that I don't relish 🙂

Appreciate the feedback -- I made a 9"x14" print of it, and it seems to look okay. As I mentioned, it's not quite as sharp as the second photo, but it's fine at that printed size. Just not as 'tack sharp when your nose is up against the print' as I'd normally like. But it will do.

Thanks - All I kept thinking of was 'Starry Starry Night', Into the Storm, Night Sea Journey or something along those lines.

Actually, 'Night Sea Journey' or 'The Dark Night of the Soul' sound like good titles -- think I'm going to change the title to 'The Night Sea Journey'. Very Jungian -- looks like a descent into a maelstrom, a Hades of sorts. Or at least that's how I saw it.

Yes very Van Gogh like in a way. THe swirls. Love the ladder and the wall breaking the flow and adding a texture contrast and shape contrast to the image. Nicely seen and the processing fits perfectly.
