Don't know if it was the original volunteer fire dept or what, but was just a shell of a building (um, guess there was a fire?). There was what appeared to be a newer one right next door. This was the more interesting (and ironic!) part of the building.

Think I'm finally going to get to go home today - I'm at the airport and they haven't canceled the flight. Fingers crossed!

12 days and 2007 miles. Think I'm cooked!

Thanks for sharing Dan -- the first time I came to NM, I brought my Super Wide C, and I can't remember what else (might have been a 500cm). Too bulky for me. What I have now - including that printer - is just right. Actually, maybe even having the extra 50 with me (Summicron) might be too much. But it definitely has a different signature than the Noctilux, even wide open. So it is nice to have.

So I am now here until Monday afternoon - might as well make the best of it! I'm staying in Old Town, so after having walked around it, I went for a drive down to Estancia. This is one of the things I found there:

I like the atmosphere of the first shot. Now when you talk about 'creamy', what do you mean? Do you mean 'glowing' highlights? If so, are you shooting wide open with that Rokkor lens? If not, how about giving that a try?

Thanks for your feedback! Sorry for being a bit unclear, I wasn't as much thinking about the bokeh (I was shooting wide open), but rather how to show the softness and smoothnes of wet snow. I think I will need to practise my Lightroom skills as well as training for better exposure.

Nicely shot, but weird motif!

Been looking at this image a bit more and it is striking that mailboxes catch my eye... The image is quite nice IMO.

Thanks Dave -- I'm looking at the photo, and of course I'm seeing all the things I'd want to remove (the metal reindeer, the stump). Plus, the background almost looks like it's not a real background...like it's a painted background or something. But of course I like the idea of the statue of a little girl holding her own head in a basket. Just not sure if the other elements are making the whole thing too busy.

Vince, two things struck me when I first saw the image. First was the "glow" if you will and second was the "painted" effect of the background. Both of which make the photo work quite well for me. I would not change a thing.

Vince, I like the mailboxes shot. I too shoot shots because they're pretty in one way or another. This shot, or shots like it are an advantage to having digital and being able to set ISO and speed to get the depth you want.

Allen, congrats on show -- looks very good. How much did the 4 dots sell for per photo? Wish I was in Chicago to see it.

I asked because trying to price one's work is very tough. Seems that there's a whole set of "rules" for fine art vs assignment work. Both confuse me!
