Leica M Monochrom: best pics

pictures from new monochrome type 246 seem too clean ( it may be better for some people ) nevertheless I enjoy to see some grain ( fine grain ) in the picture like this one from Peter Klein. Understand it is a matter of taste ... but that was how I grew up

Coming from analog, grain has the soothing effect on me as well. But, thought that this thread is to show case the possibilities of the MM, which is partly responsible for my acquisition of the typ 246.

Yeah, I need to go out again sometime when it is raining more heavily, see if I can get the effect I as after.

I'm not familiar with Davidson's Subway, only his book on England and Scotland. I couldn't find it on Magnums site, do you know where some of it might be online?

Yes I see what you mean, I'm only going on what Jim Richardson wrote:

Pop just a little flash. Huh? No, really, I mean it. Your flash will light up the raindrops, usually a bad thing because it will pump out way too much light as it tries to light up your subject. You don’t want that. But turn it way down (like -3.0 stops) and it will add just a little pop to the raindrops. This technique is tricky; you’ll have to experiment. Maybe it won’t work at all, but if it does, it can be quite magical. (Also works on snowflakes sometimes.)

That said, it was hard enough to shoot with the camera and an umbrella, let alone adding an off camera flash! That said, I wonder if I can mount it on the umbrella... interesting...

Nice cloudscapes indeed. Will be there this weekend with my M246. They reminded me to pack an orange or even red filter with me. Hopefully, the clouds will still be there.

John I would take both....
You have the 246? Love my original but you and Vince and a few others are starting to make the wallet want to loosen up LoL..
