Thank you, I appreciate your kind feedback. There is definitely a learning curve with this camera for me, but I am always excited getting out and shooting with the Monochrom.

I sent my MM for corrosion inspection, so may not post much. Although I might dig into the archive now and then. Here's one of my last before it left.

I'm hoping they find some evidence and replace the sensor. I'm concerned about how long Leica's good will will last.

I sent my M9 bodies in together, the report was that only one needed the sensor, but both ended up being replaced. Not sure if it was good will or dumb luck, but I agree the day will come when they aren't able to replace them.

THank you Helen. Tough to resist a foggy day...night!

John and Robert, I enjoyed your posts. I also have an original sensor that I wish would show signs of corrosion but nothing yet! Maybe I should send mine off. John, I wish you well with yours and would love to hear how it works out once they've seen it.

I'll be sure to post the outcome. Now that the weather is turning cold, parting with it will be more be tolerable. Leica said if it does require the fix, the process will take seven or eight weeks.

Thanks John,

For me the toughest part is packing and shipping it. Once it's gone, I can certainly make do with my aps-c cameras. I didn't realize there was any urgency as far as what Leica have in-stock as far as new sensors go.

I've never heard anything official about low sensor stock or the good will replacement expiring. It's more a concern on my part, a personal opinion that it must end SOMETIME. But that could be years away. Who knows? And your or my sensor may never have the problem. But the uncertainty bothers me.

Nor have I heard any hint about this ending. But it will have to at some point. They don't have some M5 parts anymore...

Thank you gentlemen. My camera was low use before I got it (actuations were under 2K) and it is hard to imagine corrosion showing up. I will relax with it for now and take pictures 🙂
