Very nice, Allen. I like the first one especially.

In the quotes accompanying Siskind's show at the AIC, he said he preferred that the nature of the subject remain apparent in its abstraction. Your second seems a good example of that.

I have tried several approaches to these, but it became clear that I prefer greater abstraction, as in your first shot. I really get lost in some of these, and it seems like the less recognizable the subject, the better.

Incidentally, I've got a small gallery of these on my tumblr. The alleys of the Loop are a paradise of abstractions.

John that was a wonderful exhibit. One of my professors and very good friends received his MFA from RISD and went there to study under Siskind and Callahan so of course I would have a strong love of Siskinds work.

Your image is wonderful BTW.

Terrific series on you site. Strong body of work.
 
Testing out my new to me M246, depth of these files are pretty impressive. I still love my Xpro2 but this pairs nicely in my books..
