Leica M Monochrom: best pics

These photos form a project that I did documenting the situation of the Bedouin of Israel's Negev desert. Thousands live in unrecognised 'villages' (loose communities of extended families) spread throughout the desert. They lack the most basic services and the state is trying to move the population en-masse to cities and official villages.

It was entered for an international photography prize. It didn't win.

I travelled with my MM and M9 - an eye-opening experience. After converting to BW, the MM files were much nicer to work with, and much more forgiving.

I meant to comment yesterday. Good series with #s 4, 6 and the last one as real stand outs for me especially the last one!!!!

Thank you Allen!
I've been meaning to ask you about your post processing. Your blacks are exceptional. Do you push the black point all the way to the left? And lastly what is your preference with the Shadow slider?

Jim

Fabio, I saw the first photo with 2 girls and 1 guy on Flickr. Excellent shot, super clean and sharp. Which lens? Cute girls also!

Thanks Jim. I process first in adobe raw and the in CS4. I adjust to what I would think would be a good B&W print. Levels and or curves nothing fancy. I have both LR4 and Silver Efex but I really don't like either. I just prefer CS4.

Thank you! I'll pull into Photoshop more and experiment
