Hello seanbonner,
really like your results - these must be taken with Flash? what type were you using?
Thanks
Yes, just started playing with an SF24D, really liking the results...

The 50mm is just but right for me. As of today, I could not think of other focal lengths (don't want to be tempted too
), the thought of a single focal length still interests me, and pushes me in a way, good or bad I don't know yet.
Interestingly enough, I have noticed the intimacy of the photos with an RF, I could not probably have done it better with a full-frame DSLR in a way of its intimidating presence.
I process them on LR, probably just inherited the same approach / technique (?) from processing of the Nikon D800E .nef files -- push and pulling the highlight, shadows, whites and blacks - and with the tone curve to taste.

Did another two-day food shoot at my house -- this time for a Florida-based cookbook that will coincide with the 450th anniversary of St. Augustine in 2015: http://www.flickr.com/photos/direction-one-inc/8449092246/in/set-72157632694780593/lightbox/
These shots are from yesterday and today -- the actual food shots are at the end of the set.

Cam, wow -1EV! That is, ISO 5000, f/1.0 at 1/180 sec, which speaks clearer to me than the EV number. Fantastic results, particularly considering how little light that is. And, for a change, I even like the Noctilux rendtion of points of light in the bokeh. Congratulations!

Allen, I think the unobstrusiveness of the RF made this shot intimate, subjects look very at ease with their conversation. Well done.
I like the swings btw...

Thanks Dave. I think the last photo I posted really show how well the MM behaves at high ISO. I think it looks good without much noise for 6400 ISO.

thank you, Mitch! i told you there really was *no* light that night. the wallpaper, however, was reflective and messed with the metering (boyfriends OM-D was even having a harder time) so i had to pull it down -1 or risk getting to many blown highlights... and thank you for the comment on the Noctilux, lol. i was standing right there (the image isn't cropped) and was lucky enough to have the important bits in the plane of focus. whilst fun for über bokeh, i really use the f/1 as a tool to shoot in low/no light.Cam, wow -1EV! of course with the Monochrom, i could just as easily have used the pre-asph 50mm Summilux (which i know you have) and gotten excellent results. i absolutely do not think i could have shot that evening without the Monochrom, though!
