Leica M Monochrom: best pics

The MM sensor is the old type as far as I know but with the new cover glass that will hopefully not be prone to corrosion. I am not aware that there were different types of replacement sensors. Putting in a new old ?? one, would be asking for trouble again wouldn't it? I am not aware that they ever did that. It took half a year until I got the message sensors are in and then I got the MM and M9 sensor replaced within 9 working days. Checked both cameras with 2 of my lenses and new leather cover on both of them, free of charge.

Hi all, after obsessing over whether or not I should do it, I finally bit the bullet on a certified pre-owned MM over Xmas. So glad I did.

Thanks. I only ask because I hadn't heard they were offering the latest solution for the MM yet. And yes, the standard solution until recently was to replace defective units with the same sensor/cover glass. Glad you were able to get both done. Although six months...! But at least you're set now. Mine is still in good shape.

Three from today. I'm still stuck with the big apertures, slow shutters, and high ISOs of midwest winter. But it seems to be staying lighter longer now. It won't be long.

It's around 0 degrees F here, so not much outdoor shooting. Maybe I'll post a few favorites from warmer times, just to stay part of the thread until we thaw out. - John
