Leica M Monochrom: best pics

So I had a temporary false alarm -- I know that Nik/Google had recently released the collection as a free download, and I figured that I had the same version as the one you could download. Well I took a chance, downloaded the collection and it works! Only thing is that I don't think they're going to be updating it any further, which is a shame as I really enjoy the versatility of it. I tried a demo of 'Tonality' this morning, and it doesn't have nearly the features that SEP2 does.

BTW I am using OS 10.11.6, which I just upgraded to, and it's been a big headache for me. A bit of a lesson for me for not keeping up with all the software updates.

Looks like a scene from a bad dream, a horror movie or even a crime scene ... did you step beyond the "Do not cross" tape?

Guess it's an interior designer's bad dream 🙂

I walked by this doorway a couple of weeks ago, but didn't have my camera with me. I went back earlier this week in the morning (so that there wasn't any bright sunlight hitting it) and got this shot.

Seemed a bit ironic to me, when I saw it. Someone on my Flickr said it was 'Lucio Fontana' wallpaper -- very clever.

mostly LR as well.

I still like the results from SEP2 but would just rather not deal with the extra steps in the workflow at this point. I also dislike the way selective adjustments are done in SEP2 but on occasion still use it because of it's unique functionality. Probably could get there in photoshop, but just find it very easy there.

Also, since you've mentioned it a few times Vince, struggling with levels\brightness on your laptop screen, I like to use the histogram tool in SEP2 while hovering over the different exposure zone ranges as another quick check. Really easy to see where skin tones are for example. I wish LR would add that capability.

love photos 1 and 2

Thank you, Helen. They are from a summer series on life along this high wall at the base of my office building. I usually wander, bit it's also nice to photograph the human stream flowing past a single location.

I'm guessing they're probably about ~75% as long as that windmill is tall? They're a little bigger than your standard excavator or dump truck at a commercial construction site within the city, but also much smaller than the ones used in big mining operations. So maybe each is about ~30' long? The tires on those trucks should give a good feel. That picture is as close as I got, but the tires are probably a ~5' diameter if I had to guess.
