leica M nikon F combo?

Recently purchased an F to shoot alongside my M! I have an F2 as well but the F just feels closer in genes to the M, softer shutter sound, smoother advance... anyone else using the M/F combo?

Yes, I have an "F" too. I also love the Nikkormat FTn. I bought my first Nikkormat (chrome) in 1971 if I remember well.

The "F" is great, above all because of the 100% viewfinder.

Maybe not an F exactly, but I use an FE2 with a 28mm/2.8 AI alongside an M4 with a 50/2 M-Hexanon.

I used F and F2 Nikons alongside a Leica M4-P in the 80s. But sometimes I got confused about the direction of the focus.

For some reason I’ve never been confused by focus direction, I just focus, never thought about it. 😊

I've owned several F bodies over the years--F2, F3, F4, F5, F100, FE2, FM2N, FM3A--but not at the present. It be nice to have an AF body (probably an F100) and a 50/1.4 AFD lens.

A Nikon F and a Leica M were the mainstay of my photographic equipment from about 1969 to about 1998. Still have an early plain-prism F, still have a (couple of ) Leica M.

Like Señor Splitimageview, I think I only noticed that the direction of the focusing ring was different about 10 years after I first had the pair of cameras. So much for being observant ... 😉

Don’t overlook the tiny/light F80/N80. I’ve had all of those and more. For AF use I kept the N80. Cost me about $20, just get one without sticky back syndrome. 😀

I do agree about the rounded edges, a nicer feel and closer to the M. I love my F2 but the shutter sound on the F feels more gentle, which I prefer.

Not an F but recently bought a Nikon FM along with a 24, 35 and 105mm to use a long size my M2.

If I considered a combo it would be my M6 with 50 or wide angle lenses and my F2's with telephoto lenses. That is where they both shine.
