leica M nikon F combo?

Recently purchased an F to shoot alongside my M! I have an F2 as well but the F just feels closer in genes to the M, softer shutter sound, smoother advance... anyone else using the M/F combo?

I have an Nikkormat Ft, a just calibrated and CLAed F Photomic FtN, F2, and F3 as well as an M2, M4, and M5. I evolved into this ownership over many years, waiting until very good prices showed up begging me to buy them 🙂 When I see the nosebleed prices of Leica, especially, these days, I just shake my head and thank my lucky stars I bought older, much cheaper user cameras that, while they are not perfect to look at, they work beautifully.

But ... I am not a collector. I bought well used machines and have had them CLAed and fixed as needed and I shoot every one them in a rotation that gurarantees that they get used regularly. However, when I am shooting 35mm (as opposed to MF or 4x5), I carry one or the other. I find that trying to carry both an SLR and an RF causes me too much cognitive shift moving between them.

All of my all-mechanical 35mm cameras are plain prism F's or LTM Leicas. I never got on with the M's.

In the past when traveling for more days I oft used my M7 along with my Nikon FM2!
They were a nice couple!
