....bring on the price drops!! @M8 & M9
The CCD diehards will put a premium on the M8/M9.
Isn't a Cmos sensor a downgrade from the M9?
Only to some... plenty of great photos are made with CMOS sensors. Most likely the most seen photos over the last couple of years were from a CMOS sensor.

i honestly don't see how CCD would be better (or worse) than CMOS, but then again i know nothing on the matter.

If there is a 28mm f/1.4, and if it isn't too large, that would be very interesting.

I have to admit, I'm over digital Ms.

I remember when the M5 was introduced. Photographers were buying up the M4s still around and the prices were defiantly not depreciating. Yes, this was a bit different with film and all, but...
If the price of the M10 hits the upper atmosphere [and buyers can't breath
], the 'M-camera' changed too much... the CCD sensor becomes a 'classic', and photographers realise its all they need with an full frame M9, I don't see prices dropping beyond what we see now. Maybe prices will actually increase

28 lux??? Already sounds very expensive (guessing $8k+++).

Yea, just like the prices for the DMR - The only digital solution for R cameras.
Oh wait...
Thought the idea was for big FF sensors? Isn't CMOS a downgrade in MP and smaller than a FF sensor?
Maybe I got my info wrong?
There have been full frame CMOS sensor for years. Check out the D800... 36 MP CMOS fullframe.

Somehow, as much as I would love an M9, I am just not interested in the M10 other than the fact that I wish Leica well with a new product and may it be a huge success.
I reckon the fact that waiting for the price of an M9 to drop to X2 price levels will be difficult in my lifespan and the M10 dropping down to X2 price levels is impossible.
CMOS? Video? Blech...I hope not...but then, us lower-life forms will never figure into the marketing strategy for new cameras anyway.

I have to agree Dave. I regret selling my M9 just a little. However, I don't want to use such expensive cameras anymore. Therefore, the M8 will have to satisfy my Leica wants (and it's still a hell of a camera IMO). I'm sure the M10 will be cool... but until it drops to below $3000, I won't have one.
What does GAS mean?

I fear 'simple and clean' will make place for 'convoluted and more buttons' when video enters the M.
Why is that? Are you worried of being robbed with such an expensive cam as the M9?
Sometimes, but I never let it stop me from bringing my M9 everywhere. Honestly, it's more of a philisophical choice for me... I just don't really want to use cameras that cost more than $3000 with a lens. My own little barrier I've set. Once I got the Fujifilm X-Pro1, the M9 started to get used less and less.

John, JJ,
I have a feeling that we will most likely soon see something in-between at a reasonable price as there still remains quite a price gap between the excellent X2 and the M-body while the M-body is the only interchangeable lens camera Leica makes. Just my 2 cents worth and worth everything you paid for it.
So, what could it be? Only the Shadow knows and he ain't talking...

That was my concern when shooting the demolition pix I sent in yesterday.

My RD1 with Z21mm only cost about $2300. Still I was worried about being in a bad area known for robberies. If I'm going to get robbed I only want to lose a couple hundred $.
I guess I could get insurance if I was rich enuf to use a M9?
Or visit better neighborhoods.

Yes, their APS-C 1.5x crop interchangable lens camera in the $3000-4000 range. Haven'tn heard much about it lately though. AND, it'll need to have a built in VF for me to be interested.
