Hi all

I am about to try to give a better look to my old M2.
I plan to repaint the top and bottom plates ONLY.
I have dismantled what needs to be repainted.
After I read a lot of very interesting things over the web I would like your advice on a few questions left, just before the chrome/nickel stripping.

1- on the top plate, there is a black thin ring that slighttly protrudes from the round hole of the speed dial. Do I have to try to remove it before the stripping?

2- how would you do the white inscriptions filing? some engramements are very shallow (flash indicators / bottom plate writing...)

3- I really needs to restore the back door. It looks ugly! but how?? the vulcanit is good and it would be a shame to spoil it. can I try to remove it without breaking it?

4- How should I glue back the small windows for the RF / front VF and frame illuminator after the job is done?

5- Is there any problem leaving the bare brass inside the camera or should I cover it at least with a primer to protect it?
Thanks!!
