Leica M3 pricing question

Purely hypothetical...say that I would want to sell another camera kit that is not seeing enough use: <Pictures Here>;
- Leica M3 body serial number 1096982
- 50/2 Summicron, first rigid,
- Luigi aged leather half-case

Either as a set or the lens separately what would I be looking at price wise?

The camera has never been serviced (still has the stamp in the lens mount) but is working great (I've probably taken 200+ rolls of film with it).

I've been trying to look through completed auctions on ebay but the prices are pretty much all over the place.

$800 for the M3
$400 for the Summicron (with great glass)
Luigi 1/2 case is $100 new, right? So $75.

Rich, I'd be interested to know what you are keeping.

Thanks for the pricing suggestions Frank.

Since I put a faint scratch on the top plate from mounting a meter on it I may put the M3 body up for $800 including the Luigi case and strap.

Keeping
Well I'm going 'from' about forty cameras and my plan is to eventually trim it down to maybe five or so.
My 'horded' cameras are simply not seeing much use and since part of why I initially bought them was due to their picture taking capabilities it would be good to place them in homes where they will see more film than what I have been feeding them.

Some of the cameras I'm keeping includes my Hasselblad, a near mint Olympus 35UC and (until I change my mind) a very, very near mint black Olympus 35SP.

Hi Rich,

like Frank said. But the M3 price can also be higher, depending on condition,
since it's a > 1 Mio body. If it's mostly scratch free (>= KEH EXC) you can
get >= 1000 US for it.

Was nice meeting you yesterday.

Don't do it though. My > 1 Mio M3 will be the last camera that ever goes ....

Roland.

Good karma.

I was thinking pricing the M3 a little higher too, for the collectors, since it's in nice shape and has the original seal.

But for a photographer/user, that camera is going to need a cla sooner than later, even though it is working well now, so I factored in the cost of a cla.

While you can get a good user M3 from KEH in BGN condition for
around US 500-600, there is a really steep price increase for clean
copies and serials > 1 Mio, as you can see from Sherry's add.

Really depends on what you want ...

Anyone have an opinion on the 9.5 rated M3 on the Sherry Krauter website?
6th one down-$1750 seems high,i'm not a collector and would be using heavily.

Unless otherwise noted her cameras have been CLA'd by her and have a warranty so you are paying for that.

Buying one off ebay is a gamble. It could be well worth the money or it could quit before the first roll of film.

If you buy one of these cameras from Sherry she will stand behind it..
