If you want to protect the whole cam, and do not want to spend so much money on a Luigi case, take a leitz case (the M2/M3 type), they are of hard leather and protect the whole camera very well.

I saw one of these M4-Ps yesterday, in Fujiya (Nakano, Tokyo). Basically on the top plate you see the usual "Leitz" name but immediately below that is "WETZLAR". Printed close to the hot shoe are the words "Made in Canada".
First time I've seen one of these and I immediately thought it was something special.
