Leica m4/5 focusing screen in Minolta XD7?

Would appreciate some help/ advice folks. Ah've acquired the above camera (sold as spares/repairs). It is in mint condition but needs a new focusing screen. Been scouring the web for about 2 weeks now. Ah want the standard fit, PM type - just missed 3 screen sales in a row and haven't seen anything else...yet.

Ah came across a German camera shop selling focusing screens for Leica R4/5 (new and boxed EU20). Given the "twinned" relationship with Leica in the development/production of these cameras; does anyone know if ah could fit the Leica screen in the XD7? The only difference ah can see, is that the Leica has a small lip on the central hinge. Can't find any reference tae screen sizes.

Great question but no idea. I would guess no though because of the differences in the pentaprism area.

You mean an R4/5 don't you?

One option would be a beattie intenscreen though that is likely more costly....

AFAIK Beattie don't make screens for Minoltas. Was informed in a forum that they (Beattie) said that they couldn't improve on the XD screens...😛

PS - Been a Minolta man all my life...😎
