The frame lines in my very early M6 (ser# 166xxxxx) are thicker than those in my M6 .85 (made about '96). Steven Gandy tells me that he's seen variations in frame line thickness. I had the chance to look over another early M6 (ser#167xxxxx) and the frame lines were thin. A friend's M4 has lines like those in my early M6. Now, is this simply a variation in manufacturing or did Leitz (or Leica) intentional change the thickness? Personally, I like the thicker lines; I don't seem to lose them as easily as I do with the newer .85.
