Leica M6 kit.. Did I get a good deal??

Normally I am a junkie on the Mamiya 7II forums. I just picked up a 1995 M6 chrome classic in nice shape, a 1996 21mm non-asph 21mm with finder and lastly a 1995 35mm chrome version 4. all are in very nice shape.

New to Leica and it was an impulse buy. Tell me I didn't get screwed!!

when i first looked at scanned 35mm negatives after starting with film on medium format, i thought that i misfocused every shot and that my scanner was broken

until i figured out that that's how 35mm looks after being spoiled by 6x9's all the time 🙂

i hope you won't be as shocked as me 🙂

I shoot 4x5 on my Toyo 45AII if i need big enlargements. the M6 was just my first foray into the M system.

Dumb luck is how I managed to get the camera.. I guess I did OK.. TIme to shoot some rolls.

Actually I have the 35mm asph. I was judging version by the serial number range. Is say ASPH on the front of the lens. Hopefully I still got a good deal on this chrome lens,as I hear the version VI are sought after.

Well then you got a fantastic deal, while the version IV is sought after for it's bokeh, the ASPH is still a better or sharper lens and IMO has as good or better bokeh. You needn't worry about the deal, you got a steal. If the camera hasn't had a recent CLA, it would be good insurance to make sure your deal stays valuable. Bob.
