leica m6ttl - two years in the making!

This thread is making me want to sell off my various cameras (and mountain bike) to buy an m6+35mm cron--- the only camera setup that I really get excited thinking about.
 
I'm actually quiet bummed out now...seeing as i don't own a car that bike was my sole form of independent travel, its gunna seriously mess up my week
 
What a bummer , buy a camera and lose a bike. A least the new camera will give you a boost when it arrives. Maybe things will turn around and you'll get your bike back. I was a student at the Maryland Institute College of Art over 40 years ago and put a Black Nikon Ftn on lay-away. Paid $10 or $20 on it whenever I had the money. Had a stack of receipts 2 inches thick when I finally picked up the camera but life was sooooo sweet. Enjoy.

Hi EcoLeica,

Congratulations on your M6 ttl! One disadvantage of buying a 40 mm lens is that I don't think the M6 has a viewfinder frame for it. You could buy a screw to bayonet adapter for the lens on your IIIc and use that lens (probably a Summar or Summitar) on your M6. Sorry some evil person stole your bike. Hope you can retrieve it.

Bad luck with the bike: commiserations.

I got my first Leica as a 19 or 20 year old student: a IIIa in 1969-70.

A M6 is a better choice. My first M was an M3 in 1974 or so. I currently use M2, M4-P, MP, M8, M8-2 and am waiting for am M9. I've earned a living with my camera and word processor (originally typewriter) for almost 30 years

thank you all for your kind comments, its great to have the support from the forum when things get tough. Its been a strange couple of days, very up and down. I woke up feeling fairly sorry for myself about the missing bike and opened a letter thinking it was another bill...well it turned out I have just been awarded a national photography grant to help with my first exhibition!....strange week I must say
