Im completely new here in the Forum. I have a new M7 but not the instruction manual, does any body out there can help me to find it or send it to me by mail. Please!?
My M7 shows allways a red down led. Does it mean need battery change? I change them but still the same problem :bang:
Hope to have soon an answer.

Hello Andy and welcome to the forum! :) Battery warning in the M7 is flashing LEDs. Dead batteries are indicated by bc in the display or the display disappears altogether.

It seems from the manual that there are no downward pointing triangular LEDs in the display, so I'm not sure what you mean when you describe a "red down led".

Just in case you have the camera set to DX and no film in it, try this: Set the film speed dial on the back of the camera to anything other than DX - say 400ASA. Turn the shutter speed dial to AUTO. Make sure there is a lens on the camera and take the lens cap off. Make sure the camera is switched on - turn the little lever at the front of the film wind lever so that it covers the small red dot. Wind the film wind lever so that the camera is cocked. Look through the viewfinder and press the shutter down a bit. You should see a number appear in the bottom of the viewfinder, it will be either flashing or solid. The number is the shutter speed the camera has selected for the aperture on your lens, if it's flashing you need to adjust your aperture until the number stops flashing.

Hope this helps.

Hello Andy,
I´m glad to see you joined this forum.

Leica should provide downloadable instruction manuals for their products on their website - but I didn't see any. Come on Leica, you have customers out here!

Welcome Andy.

If you got the camera new without a manual just contact Leica, they should send you one.

As far as the 'down led' is concerned I assume that you mean the led dot at the botom when the shutter speed is displayed. This can mean a few things but if my memory is correct normally signals:
- No film
- Manually set film speed
- Exposure compensation has been applied

Pop a DX fim in and set it to DX and the led will go out. Just a note that a half press of the shutter will act as exposure lock in auto and is signalled by a top led dot.

Have fun using it and post some shots in the gallery when you have time. Just a little curious but what lenses are you using?

Dear Leica M forum friends: I wanted to say that my problem was a lower blinking red dot.
I do everything you told men, but there is still the same dot in the same place. I read in the M6 TTL instruction manual that low battery is a blinking dot. But Im not sure if it is the same in M7. About your question I have a 35 /1.4 summilux lens. I think is an old one. MA de in Canada.
I just write my first M7 impression you can read it in the forum.

Thanks a Lot for everything

Andy
