Yesterday I took my, new to me, used Leica M8 for a spin. Getting home I quickly uploaded the images into Lightroom 2.6. I shot all my pictures as DNG+Fine JPG. I did not use an IR filter on the lens (don't own one). A lot of pictures were shot outdoors and one very noticeable difference between the JPGs and DNGs of the same image is the color of green foliage. Foliage in the JPGs is green as it was in nature but the same image in DNG shows the green foliage as a washed out yellow?! I generally like punchy colors and used to, and continue to shoot Velvia as my preferred slide/transparency film, so I do want the punchy colors; for example, I love the color rendition of my Olympus dSLRs (which i often saturate further) for example over the default color rendition from Canon SLRs. Will try to post some examples later.

I like the sharpness of my Leica M8 and Summicron 50 (which I have had for a while, I use it also on an M6) but the color rendition of the DNGs needs work.

BTW I tried to install the Capture One LE that came with the used camera but the PPC only software would not install on my Intel Imac running Snow Leopard.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Hany.

I don't get any of these issues that you mention in LT 2.6, as for C1 it's Leica dedicated but it crashes a lot on my Mac running Snow Leopard. Adobe Camera Raw running with Photoshop CS3+ is also a good alternative.
