Leica M8 image saving problems.

In response to the thread on the M9.
Had some problems with the M8 yesterday. On hols in sunny Norfolk (i joke not for UK residents)
I took some pics with 35mm Skopar lens, saved fine. viewed ok.
Changed to the 25mm snapshot Skopar, took some more images,
However saving seemed to take ages, on a couple of images all that came up on the screen when i played back was the File name across the middle of the screen.
At least a couple of images i did see on the screen.
Later whilst viewing them on my camera at the Beer festival in Sheringham, they had gone. (25mm images).
Any advice anyone?
Sandisk extreme 8GB. formated in camera. About 100 images on card.
Firmware 2.014
Not downloaded yet so unsure if i have them or not!

Not sure if its just the M9 but I wouldn't use sandisk cards and would not be using such a big or modern card get some older 2gb or 4gb cards that are not sdhc.

Individual cards of any make can fail.. Why specifically not use "Sandisk".?
i was going to use a digital for my daughter's wedding ,when a few days before the images taken, could not be seen..
I did not try another card! i shot the wedding, well part of it, as i was in the retinue with my Leica M.

I would format the card after saving the images on some hard drive.

Its Happened again!

Its Happened again!

Happened again yesterday.
Slightly different series of events from what i can remember.
Camera had been on for a while.
Took the picture.
Camera then took ages to try & save the image.
It locked the camera up & I had to remove the battery
to get it to do anything.
Image gone. Only the 1 this time.
Sandisc again.
Have bought some smaller samsung & Kingston cards.
See if it helps.

I am using two Sandisk Ultra cards on my M9 without any problems, fingers crossed.

No problems here with my M8 and 8GB SanDisk Extreme so far.
