Seems like, the price of Leica M9 would be £4900. But obviously I cannot divulge the source of my information.

That's $7 grand in the US. Unfortunately, though, it is really meaningless. Only when a price is set where you can actually buy one does it mean anything.

US price seems to be $7500.

Caveat: according to the source - the Pound price is more probable than the US Dollar price. But in all likelyhood it's going to be $7500.

And I think I will wait, rather than jumping into the fray right now.

Well, the straight conversion [per Xe.com] is $8K - not 7K, but the price might be $7500.

And I was thinking of $7000 ! I am not joining the party right now.

Leica has received a very good response so far from the dealers.

There will be a shortage in the UK - M9s will be supplied in two lots.
First lot available from Thursday and the Second lot coming in 10 days.

Martin, as already expressed, I don't know your background etc. M9 would be about 1 1/2 year's salary in my book :D really too much. On the other hand I'm neither a pro nor make money with photography yet.

I don't know and nor does anyone else. Why don't you just wait, I don't know, a couple of days?

Odd that the exchange difference between the pound and the dollar be recognised - Usually the dollar price is converted directly to pounds (i.e. $7500 = £7500) in rip-off Britain!! :(

Time will tell ;)

That would imply GBP 4900 = USD 4900 and would make a lot of people very happy, I suppose

5400 Euro.. not that bad, I was expecting a price like this.
Couple of years and a used one will be affordable :(

Rob.

At least the intertoobes will have something new to bash and kick around come Sept. 9th. That's got to be great news for their sponsors ;)
