I wrote LEICA GERMANY yesterday about the problem of not having an auto shut off mode.

Here is there answer with a new firmware.
Did not try it as I am flying through Europe, so please guys, feed back about it.

I applaud their quick and professional reaction.

Our MD WILL BECOME PERFECT ;)

Good morning,

The instructions are missed on the French side, sorry for that. Hoping this information will be helpful. Enjoy your camera and have a nice day

Just did the download -- the camera is supposed to shut off after 10 minutes.

So you're right -- now the camera's perfect :)

YOU see...you have the guys with a menu to choose in the back of the camera body and the guys with a menu to choose....in Germany ! ( just kiding) .

Yes perfect reaction from Leia and excellent customer support.

i can see non updated M-D's getting collectors status in the future, imagine listing a non updated M-D in 2018 on ebay, the non-updating will bring a premium for sure :) who wants the lame auto-shut off anyway.

Guess one solution is to keep shooting, then it will never shut off :)
