For anyone who is interested, Schmidt Marketing in HK still has parts to repair the E02 error. I was quoted a price of HK$750 - about $100 US. Pretty good - but the shipping is probably pretty steep.

Schmidt no longer repairs Minilux with E02 problem.

After some search on the internet and help from Google Translate, I found a fellow in China who could repair this problem. I sent him the camera and received it repaired about a month later (the package transit time from the US to China is about 10-14 days). His email is summaron@163.com.

I rarely turn off my Minilux now, instead I simply let it go into "sleep" mode. I put a 36mm cap over the lens to protect it when not in use. The E02 problem can be mitigated by minimizing the lens extension and retraction frequency.

Interesting, how much was the price to get it fixed (including shipping)? I've always wanted a minilux (having shot with a Nikon 35ti and loved it) but was always put off by the ubiquitous E02 error.
