Leica MP #110 for 2.000 euro

wasn't this on Fleabay (Arsenal, if I recall) a while ago? it's the one with the footballer on the top plate...

if the seller knew how many MPs were made and so on, I don't think they'd be selling it for 2,000 eur... it's a real MP, but this is very likely a scam.

very nice looking camera anyways.

That ad is a fake -photografica - had that camera for sale for $49k US a short time ago over the net, those photos were stolen from their website.

Tom

yeah, what Tom said.

it's really evident in that ad that the seller knows what they're selling- besides the description, they have a picture of the serial number engraved in the shutter crate. that's behind a panel on the bottom of the camera... if the seller didn't know what it was worth, there's no way they'd find that AND realize that it's significant.

anyways...

Tom, I also think that it is a fake but wasn`t sure about the origin of the photos. Could you point me to photografica ? I would like to inform them about that ad so that they could take measures.

That site is packed with fraudulent ads - stuff like sub-1000 Nikon D3's on offer from English speaking sellers claiming to be from rural parts of Germany. FWIW, currently the site is illegal as a whole - it is entirely anonymous and does not even display the corporate address and tax number which are mandatory for any business operation using a .de domain. If you want to shut them down, all you'll need is drop a note to the regulatory board...

I am to long away from Germany (and in Tokyo ...), what regulatory board ? The DENIC ?

The Bundesnetzagentur would be in charge, as it violates German (and EU) laws. But not having a minimum legal site notice isnot covered by the DENIC domain policy as well, so they might also have their domain pulled from that side.
