it started drizzling while i was out today, and now there's a circular coating mark on the viewfinder window. *sigh* i guess that knocked a couple hundred dollars off the resale value, which i was planning to do once the year is over.

i never thought of it before, but the coating's blue color suggests that the windows are only single coated. does anyone know for sure? seems like a throwback to the old days when leica had soft lens coatings.

guess i'm just in a bad mood. my hexar rf has multicoated windows, not a mark on them.

My MP often gets wet from rain. No markings on the viewfinder window whatsoever until now, after almost seven years. Try to clean it with a soft microfiber cloth after you breathed on it or after moistening it with a bit of fluid lenscleaner. Do not rub dry.

I've had Ms for four years, no troubles. If you get your fingers on your windows, you're an SLR man at heart.

MP VF (M7 also) should have multi-coated windows, quite scratch resistant. I always wipe mine with a shirt and when to much dirt has accumulated, I clean the window with a drop of isopropanol.
