Leica R8 Battery Compartment. Help!

Hi, I just purchased a Leica R8 that came with the motor winder. I haven't recieved the camera yet but I don't plan to use the motor winder, so I was going to remove it, but from everything I've read online it seems that if you take out the motor winder you need to replace it with the original battery pack, and I don't think my body came with that battery pack. Does anyone know where I could purchase a replacement?

What you are looking for is not a pack per se, but rather just the original battery cover/door that forms the grip and holds (2) two CR2 batteries. There are likely a ton rotting in boxes after owners bought the winder that you have. You might get lucky and find one on eBay or perhaps from someone here, or just call Leica. I'd bet they still have NOS inventory -I believe the R9 door is the same.
