I'm thinking of getting a frame counter issue on my M2 fixed. Is there anywhere decent in the country that I can have this done? I am about and hour from Sydney. I know there are many excellent technicians overseas, but I would rather not be messing around with international post.
Thanks

You could try Mainline Photographics. They would probably know of someone who could help.

The Camera Clinic in Easey Street, Collingwood is excellent. They are the officlal Leica service centre for Australia, if I am not mistaken.

The Camera Exchange, formerly in Lonsdale Street and now in Box Hill is also very good. They also sell a lot of classic cameras. I bought my M7 from them, and have seen a lot of M2's, M3's, M6's and MP's come through there.

If Jorg Heumuller is still doing service work for Camera Exchange then you could not do better anywhere. My M5 came back from the Camera Clinic in Collingwood with the vertical alignment of the RF out. I was tired of traipsing in there so I fixed that myself. Nevertheless, they might be OK.

I had my M6 rangefinder adjusted by Vic Plant at Camera Exchange and it is perfect. Another camera store very nearby (where I had bought it) had two attempts that were not a complete success (horizontal "near enough" but vertical noticeably out).
