HM Queen Elizabeth II is a leica lover,

many already know that but the great thing about it is she keeps Upgrading 😀 no wonder why they call her a modern woman. I wonder what's her opinion about M7 and M9 😉

I was gonna say that too. 😀

It would be even cooler if someone spots her with a blacked out Leica with taped Leica logo, strap wrapped around her arm. 😛

For some unknown reason, I think that even with a blackened Leica, she couldn't really do street photography unremarked 😀

Guess some people are their own red spots.

I've always wondered how much she used her old Leicaflex Standard. I remember seeing something about it back when it was new. It may have been a presentation. Lager has a picture of it (Illustrated Guide II, page 228)

I know she was given an M3 and an M6 by Leitz, and probably a couple others. She has been seen actually using them through the years.

We'll probably get to bid on them one day when we search eBay for "Leica" and get an auction that starts.... "I found these old cameras while cleaning out my grandmother's closet..." 😉

Actually not so - apparently she is quite adept at travelling incognito: just last week HM and HRH attended a play in the West End with a hardly anyone else there noticing at first.

I'm sure I've seen her at Borough Market with her M6 and 35 'lux.

Pip - Pip for the Queen and Leica.

My Father spent 2 + years in England during WWII. He always wanted to go back for a vacation but never made it before he died.

I also remember that Prince Philip was given a Focomat IIc at some stage. Would be nice to have the butler doing the agitation and the boring clean-up after each session!

Liz: Philip, where's the developer? ...

Liz: Philip, where's the developer ...

Liz: Philip, where's the bloody developer ...

Phil: It's Wednesday dear ... it's his day off
