Good news for Leicaphiles in the DC area.

I hope it's in DC (maybe in Georgetown near the Apple Store to capture the Euro-tourist traffic?) & not the suburbs.

And that they actually have inventory to sell.

I would guess downtown, not far from the White House; between there and Dupont Circle. But, the question is: with their long waiting lists how will they stock the store?

I'm guessing that if it's an official Leica store, they would have priority on what little stock exists (not sure never having visited any Leica store).

I'm actually more excited about the area getting a branch of Eataly (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/05/eataly-dc-la_n_888894.html) 😛; that's somewhere I'd be more inclined to visit on a regular basis.

I have a conference in Bethesda May 4-5 and will definitely go there to check it out. As in the referenced thread above, one of our members already made out with a new Summilux 50 ASPH prior to the official opening.

Here in Richmond, BC, we have a newly-opened Leica Boutique at Broadway Camera in Lansdowne Centre Mall. It's beautifully laid out and they have most of the products - current cameras, lenses, finders, caps & hoods and bags. It's the first Leica Boutique in Canada and its installation was supervised by factory personnel who flew in from Solms.
