Leica Rumour

He called Obama "decent". What's wrong with that? Maybe he didn't like one of our 43 previous presidents, whose to say he was referring only to GWB? Maybe he meant Clinton?! ;) I think you do protest too much. And anyway, if Bush was thought to be so great, we wouldn't have Obama, we'd have McCain. And if the Edwards scandal had hit just a wee bit earlier, he wouldn't have knocked Hillary to second place behind Obama in the primaries and we'd have Hillary as President. And if my aunt had testicles she'd be my uncle....See how much isn't under our control and how we feel as individuals matters little? Take a deeep breath and exhale slowly.....

If you read my initial post, I asked the O/P a question - about what he meant using that term. You might also note the reference by amateriat to the O/P ordering a 'Nomex suit', so I don't think I'm the only one who read that the way I did.

In any case, I'm not protesting 'too much', I asked a question and stated why I thought the O/P was sticking his thumb in the eye of people who were not 'for Obama', and then stopped posting. I responded to your question out of courtesy, I actually intended to stay out of the thread from that point on. So I've actually only 'protested' once, and that was in the form of a question.

I have reread the O/P's first post, and my reply. I'll stand by it. Sorry if you have a problem with that. I'm moving on now.

...but it seems certain types can't enjoy their own victory without saying something nasty about the one that is leaving.

...if people can't stop themselves from taking a jab at our former president, then I'm not feeling quite so friendly anymore...

:bang:

I seem to recall plenty of 'jabs' at Clinton over the past 8 years. That's politics.

^ And that is why we avoid discussion of politics and religion until *after* dinner when everyone is in a good mood :)
