The M9 seems to have a fair number of fans because of it's Kodak CCD sensor. I wonder if the Pentax 645D, with it's Kodak CCD also creates special images?

Time to test.
I think if it someone does buy it these days it is for the price more than the look. Again, nobody is going crazy over ccd dslrs. I think the M9 does well because it is a rangefinder on the lower end of the price range. It does have a pretty decent 18mp though. I cannot think of another FF ccd with that many MPs.

I have good luck with the small M8 sensor (10MP) https://flic.kr/p/2m4Uo6H and the smaller Sony DSC S70 (3.2MP) https://flic.kr/p/u4sBBv so sensor size is not always a liability for those of us not contemplating very large prints or counting pixels. That the larger 18MP M9 sensor, when upgraded to a non-corroding sensor, can deliver really good images with the photographer the main problem. https://flic.kr/p/2nCppYL I know that many will disagree but I remain very pleased with the M9 images and see the CCD's as a plus even when the sensor is small.

The trick is being able to focus and follow the subject when high ISO and Speed is required. These are all wide-open at F1.25 with the 7artisans 75/1.25. Great lens for $450.
I have a hard time following the subject with a DSLR and Mirrorless. These shots are panned with the subject. The image blackout from the DSLR and Mirrorless throw me off.

^^^^^^ You are in a time warp. Roller rinks! We had one here in town and roller derbies for a couple of years but I missed them. I just checked the mirror blackout on the A7M III and it is negligible and when electronic not noticeable. And electronic runs through shots quicker than you know what through a goose. But the image is not as sweet as the M9. However, on full auto with the 24 - 240 zoom I am sure of getting "the shot,"
