Leica service (or lack thereof)

I recently purchased a used M7 which came without an instruction book. I read (on this forum I believe) that Leica would send a replacement if you contact them. I live in Canada and as far as I know there is no Leica official presence here so I contacted the "literature' department in New Jersey by email. No response despite 3 reminders and a telephone message ( there was no option to talk to a human being) in the last three weeks.

I am not very impressed with my first contact with Leica service. Any suggestion or do I bite the bullet and buy a photocopied one for $20 on the web?

they might be too busy painting black & white stripes on lenses at the moment...😉

contact kinderman canada and ask if they have any instruction manuals. they usually email back on the same day.

Just mail Solms through their website (www.leica-camera.com) and they will help out.

AFAIK Leica USA in New Jersey has been handling the official duties for all of N. America since Lyle-Kelkoo went bust. Call them and IIRC they have a separate phone menu function just for ordering brochures and manuals.
