Leica Speeds. .. ...

A new to me Leica iif seems to not "work correctly" on the 5oo and 1,000 speed adjustments. Must I get a full blown ClA or will repeatedly dry firing free it up? In the manual is a warning to 'set new speed ' after first rewinding.

In what way is it not working correctly?

You do need to wind on before setting the speed.

Using settings and dry firing an old sleepy camera sometimes wakes it up.

The shutter curtains slit width, formed by both independent curtains could be out of wack.
At those speeds the slit should less than 1mm wide.

A proper CLA will bring those top speeds back.
