leica stores

Off subject.. Leica is not only one copying the Apple store

Btw in Palo Alto, Ca at the Stanford shopping center lol Microsoft put their store right next to the Apple store. The Sony store decided to remodel at the shopping center either about the same time or shortly after the Microsoft store open. Though they did not copy the Apple store 100%, they both have a more open feel that is very similar to the Apple store.

I've been to one Apple store in my life ... I couldn't get out fast enough! :D

The added operating expenses of real estate, taxes, employees & benefits, insurance, etc etc has to keep their in-store selling prices high (will the online prices be lower? hmmmmm )

Instead of opening big dollar boutique stores they could just make their products more reasonably priced and accessible to photographers on average incomes?

May I direct you to the used Leica department? That's where we poor people get our M cameras - film based bodies, of course... :D

I will admit, there's a level of pretention, but in their defense, I've had to go in for two busted MBP's. 1 was an at the time 4 year old machine, and the video driver went into the toilet. It was a known issue. They fixed it for free, even though I had opened up the machine, gutted the optical drive, and put in a 1TB HD. The other time was last week, on a 2 month old MBP. HD died. Of course, under warranty.

I only go in when I need something, but any time I've had a product busted, they've been quick to fix it with no fuss. I can't say that about many other products.
