That's a chrome rigid, they are a rare find and always expensive.

Are they so expensive even with the front element being so baddly damaged? It looks like it is not just dirt on it.

Yes, production numbers were low. This has a long way to go.

There is some nice stuff up for sale, thankfully I have given up buying!

I remember in the early 1970s a well used collapsible Summar would set you back 18 dollars from Wall Street Cameras.

That is not bad for a rigid Summar. Now try and find a price for a 'Tropen' Summar...

It's a rigid summar - rare is expensive in the Leica world. Hence the price differential between rigid and collapsible ltm summicrons
