Leica LTM Leica Summaron-M 28mm f/5.6 Lens

I've looked everywhere and can't find the answer to this question.
Is the new Leica Summaron-M 28mm f/5.6 Lens a screw mount (LTM) lens with an adapter attached to if from the factory? Every detailed picture I've seen of it makes it look like an LTM lens with an adapter, but nowhere in any description that I can find does it say that.

Does anyone here own one, or has anyone here actually used one, and know if it's actually a fixed M mount on the lens, or if it's a fixed LTM mount with an adapter over it to convert it to M mount.

The reason I ask is that I'm looking for a 28mm for a IIIc.

It is an M mount lens only, based on the original LTM design. A very nice lens, but a modest aperture.

I would have a close look at the CV 28mm Huss mentioned, very nice lens.

Thanks for the info, that's what I was trying to find out.

The CV 28 3.5 LTM might be a fine lens, but they've been discontinued, and the ones I've seen for sale used are priced higher than I think they're worth.

Agreed, they are overpriced.

The Minolta G-Rokkor 28mm f3.5 LTM is also an excellent lens, better build quality than the VC, but usually around $900/1200 on flea bay.

I've used one and liked it very much, sharp as a tack, great rich color.
Unfortunately my friend didn't want to sell it.

M Mount only, unfortunately. Tiny. Wonderful lens. Lives on my chrome M9-P. The light fall off to left and right can't be replicated so easily in Lightroom. It is sharp. The original advertising probably misled a lot of people, in the wake of the Thambar revival lens which is deliberately very blurry. Have a look at RFF member Ian Watts shots on flickr. He is a great exponent of what it can do. And there's a thread of pictures here on RFF with his shots.
 
The G-Rokkor is a complete different look, very sharp and contrasty.

I purchased a nice original LTM version for 1/5 of the cost of the new version from B&H a couple of weeks ago...

What do you consider overpriced?
When I've seen them, and that doesn't happen often, they go for ~$450, give or take $50.

Oh yeah, the Orion 15 definitely is a contender. I forgot I had one..

Here is a link to a test album I shot. The tight images are crops of the ones before them. And I think one of the images shows vignetting before I corrected for it with a preloaded profile in LR.

Seconding the Orion-15. A nice lens if you can get a decent copy. Free from distortion and quite very sharp from wide open. It's even RF coupled although at 28mm f/6 it seems a bit superfluous. The lens is absolutely tiny and the scale focus indices are very readable, making it a great snapshooters lens.

A nice one to have!

Thanks Raid, I think the Summaron 28/5.6 has a special "signature" when used at 5.6, vignetting and tonality included. This is what makes it special and not comparable with other excellent 28 mm lenses. I have the new version (didn't find an old one) but it should apply to the old LTM version as well.
Stopped down this charachteristic disappears.
This applies to digital and on film, B&W or colour.

If someone is not interested in this kind of look different faster (and probably less expensive) options like the ones mentioned above can be a more appropriate choice.

Timmyjoe there's a chrome color skopar 28 f 3.5 listed in the classifieds today for $400 USD....can't get a better deal than that. if you don't care for it you'll more than get your money back
