Does it fit?
The most informative thread I found was this
http://forum.getdpi.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-4634.html
but it doesn't answer whether the Super Angulon fits on an m4/3 or not.
Any of you tried?

Yes. It fits the M1 through m4. It can be mounted on the M6, M7, amd MP, although the depth of the lens will interfere with metering. Basically metering is non-functional with these models. It can't be put on the M5 unless it has been modified so as not to bring up the meter stalk.
But no problem with the M1, M2, M3, and M4!

How about an m4/3 camera like the E-P1?

Ok, I can answer my own question now. I guess.
It will NOT fit!
why? Not that I have tried, but a thread here says there the Super Angulon doesn't fit onto a Zeiss Ikon, which has similar "interior" as those m4/3 cameras.
So it won't fit w/o filing that shutter block (or whatever it's called) inside the camera

fitting it to the G1/EP1 isn't the same as a ZI... the SA will need to be mounted to a M- M4/3 adapter first, then to the camera body...
I think the question you need answered is whether or not the 21 SA mounts to the appropriate adapter...

When the G1 first came out, it was written that the 21 SA could not be used because it would go down too deep into the body. It will fit into the adapter, but I would caution against trying it.

oops
Thanks Rob-F for your pic.
I just noticed the confusion in my wording
I meant Super Angulon fitting on a micro four thirds camera.
Not Leica M4 & M3,
Sorry for the confusion and thanks a lot for your effort.
Although your pic doesn't answer the question, it is successfully transmitting me GAS infection.

If the rear element of the lens protrudes further than the top of the screw mount then it is likely to be a doubtfu fit - for example the Jupiter 12 35mm doesn't fit - the rear element just sticks out too much...

Pick up an M2 body and be done with it. All your M lenses will fit no problem.

Ok, I finally got the answer.
The Super-Angulon 21/3.4 will NOT fit into an E-P1.
I've tried. The rear end of the lens reaches the interior parts of the camera, long before the mount could land on the camera shell.
Alas. Now I have to look for something else as E-P1's prime lens.

Thanks for the answer.
So I guess that prevents me from getting an m4/3 camera
(ie. It doesn't stop me from getting a Super Angulon)
