Leica teases "Mini M"

does leica have the capacity to make a new line of lenses and do a new APS-C sensored camera? if they can do the fuji hybrid VF it would probably be a big hit

It would be great if it was a small camera with a big sensor. Would also be great if a color and Monochrom versions were available. I definitely would buy a Monochrom version if available.

I'd be surpised if they miss the opportunity to produce a full frame body with a detachable evf, or even a built in evf. No mechanical rangefinder, just focus peaking. There's no need to go head on with everyone else in the smaller sensor categories as their lenses are small enough.
If it's 2/3 the price of the M it will boost M lens demand, many with an M will consider it as a back-up, and there should be less in the way of warranty issues like rangefinder readjustment.

What qualifies as a Mini M ?

(a) A small Rangefinder ? ie. A RF capable camera with a fixed Lens ?

or

(b) A compact camera without a VF but allows M Lenses ?

or

(c) Something else

The Leica M is the M 240, X2 is Micro M and D-lux 6 is Nano M.

So what is the Mini-M ?

They won´t make any real Leica M contender...

My guess? They´re announcing their own Panasonic GX2 version, just like the D-Lux is a version of the LX7

Which does not sound bad at all...

Leica mentioned some time ago that they were working on a mirrorless camera. Maybe this will be it.

I imagine it would be an M mount with a 1.5x or 1.3x sensor size. Maybe even m4/3 with the intention of using primes on it.

Wow, very interesting and the release will be rather soon...so no leaks at this point...

Can´t imagine what sensor it will be...i´m intrigued :D:D:D

Something in between FF and APSC???

So i´ll make my guess....a Monochrome leica X2!!!!

:p

Someone speculated on another site that it might be a digital CL. It would be neat to see them produce a mirrorless interchangable lens camera with a full frame sensor to compete with Sony's RX1.

Mirrorless M mount full frame - EVF / LCD only. That's what I'm hoping for. I love RF's, but I would love to have a universal (and less expensive than the M240) full frame back even more...
