In my "Darkroom Days", I used Kodak Ektars(50 & 75MM) for most enlergements. I did, however, experiment with 50MM Elmars(3.5 and later2.8). I found them to be as good as the 50MM Ektar tthru F8. At 11 however they seemed to fall short. I was, at that time, limited to 16X20 prints and up to that size, the Elmars were fine. Leitz, in their pamplets, recommended using the early summicrons but I never cound find a bayonet lens holder for my Omega enlarger.

There are early LTM summicrons. However, unless you're going to have them do double duty, they're pretty pricey to buy for enlarging use only.

I used an old 90 Elmar for 6*6, but the image circle is to small. The prints seemed to be sharper when with the NIkkor 75/4.0 on an old Durst enlarger. Now using an Klatt autofocus from 1950/60 I can only use the enclosed Schneider Componons.
