I wasn't sure where to post this.
Today I saw a guy with a Canon Rebel something, but what was interesting was his flash. It was clearly a Vivitar, probably a £60 thing, but it had a very large, very bling elliptical Leica logo on the front of it. I had my M6 with me so wandered over to chat about cameras. I asked him about his flash, and he proudly told me about his 'Leica' flash unit which he'd been sold in Italy (he was Italian).
Now, this was a hotshot mounted black plastic cheap swivel head flash that takes 4 AA batteries, it was not Leica. I told him this, and he very smugly told me he was a camera expert and it was a Leica flash worth over £500.
I walked away confused, and then found it. This was it:
Where on this picture it says Vivitar in large letters was an elliptical shiny Leica third party sticker.
So, either he was playing around, or some shop in Italy is doing a great trade.

I hope you get an answer, I know nothing about this but the Leica franchise would be an interesting essay.
