In yet another of my "brilliant" idiocies I appear to have over-screwed the battery cover into the otherwise empty battery chamber. I suspect I tightened it until it went below the thread as I can't unscrew the damn thing. (I only wanted to see if the CRIS adapter in my Sekonic meter would fit the camera & work the light meter.)
It looks as though I could free the cover if I could remove the baseplate but I read in another thread in this forum, "Leicaflex insanity", that I'd have to unscrew the square head in the tripod hole and I haven't yet found a tool that fits.
So, before I get into any further trouble and ruin a perfectly good camera...
is there a way to easily remove the cover without taking off the base plate? I suspect some kind of vacuum attachment so I can pull the cover back onto the threads but I don't know if that's possible or where I would find such a thing.
