Not true. The first commercially sold 24x36 35mm still camera was the American made Simplex which sold over the counter in 1914- proudly designed and made in New York City.

I enjoyed the article very much. I have done business with Dan several times, and he's an awesome guy. You can sense his excitement for Leica from a mile away!

IMO -- the Leica I is really as usable as any modern camera, the others not even close. Kind of the iPhone of its era, not first, but first.
