I don't want to jinx anything, but I may very soon be blessed with an M2 and an M3! I've sold off some gear and am lucky to find sellers willing to take trades as partial payment. Keep your fingers crossed for me and I'll let you know what happens. Oh, boy!

"I may very soon be blessed with an M2 and an M3!"

I'm new here, somebody help me out: is this for real or a joke???

It reads like a joke, but I fear it's for real!!! Scary Stuff...

Good luck on the transactions, Frank. If that pans out, you should be one happy shooter! Will they need CLA?

Frank,
You will love them. They really are fine cameras. I find it amazing that Leica still supplies parts for my 1958 M2 and that the viewfinders in the M2 and M3 are the best that I have seen.

Of course after picking up an M2 and an M3 in such a short period of time, you are certainly blessed with an understanding wife!

I've posted the cheque/check for my M2, paid Paypal for the 50mm 'cron from eBay and I still have a Bessa R and three lenses left over with girlfriend not raising an eyebrow... how'd that happen???

Stu :)

Pherdinand, I think rover means Frank has only an M1, M4, M5 , M6, M7 and MP to go before he has the whole collection complete. :)
But then he still has all the M4 incarnations to go, and the M6 incarnations, and all the different types of all the other M's.
And what about Leica I, II, III, Ur-Leica, etc...?

Remy is correct, but I forgot the M5, and as he says the M4-2 and M4-p but added the M6TTL. So, 2 down and 8 to go less the original MP and LTM cameras.

I would not worry about Frank. With an M2 and an M3, he will not lust after anything else.

STU: If you do not Marry that girl soon she will get marriage proposals from all of the single guys at RFF.

Okay, Pecker, I admit that "blessed" may have been an inappropriate word to use! Did I do that purposefully? Make a joke? Me? Well maybe.

The M3 didn't pan out. I hadn't gotten all the info and it turned out not to be the camera that was right for me. M3 yes, but not this particular one for me.

LOL.
But I'll end up selling my M2 and Hasselblad to buy the engagement ring!

Sincerely sorry it did not work out, Frank. I was kidding a bit with my post, too (but a little serious -- afterall, these are just cameras :) ). Good luck with the next one!

Maybe on photo.net, or other oddball forums, but not here. These are more than "just cameras" to us. You're in the midst of gearheads who like to shoot photos too. Not to fear, you'll adjust.

And welcome to the forum!

Best,
Don
