I was going through some boxes a few days ago and found this album of photos from Leitz Wetzlar. I attended the Leica Schule in 1986 as a dealer and this was part of the materials that were given to us. It provides a pretty cool snapshot into the production of the cameras and lenses of that era.

They really needed an FLD filter on some of the pictures. I shot quite a bit in the factory and corrected the white balance when I scanned the slides.

It's a characteristic of that era with all the fluorescent lighting, etc... Quite the contrast to the starkly monochromatic look seen in most images from Leica's current facility. Also interesting to see the transition from colorful frocks to white lab coats.
