Lenes, again.

Don't feel like resurecting the dead.
I'm looking to a buy an M2 / M4 pretty soon, depends which shows its oppurtunity first.
I need to find me a decent way to procure a 35 or 50 lens.
I've been looking at the LTM, Canon, Nikon, and M-Mount lenses but I can't find:
- A decent 50 Summicron under $450.
- A nice Canon 35. (Though didn't someone say a while back that the Canon 1.4 50mm is a great lenses?)

I don't want collapsible.
And the adapters are going to run me $55 from Cameraquest, right? (Well more since I am in CA)
So I'm looking to budget round $300-350, cheaper if possible.
I think I'm leaning towards the Canon's though, the are cheap and I have heard good things about them.

The Canon Lenses are less expensive and very good. Truly if you are looking to get your feet wet, obtain a real quality lens, and stay in a budget, look for the Canon 50/1.8. Chrome or Black, there are always a few on ebay. Look for one with no haze inside and you will be very happy. I have not checked the prices lately, but a Canon 50/1.4 which is also excellent or CV Nokton should be in your budget too.

As for a 35, the CV 35/2.5 Classic will run you $210, pretty good choice for a brand new lens of good quality.

Don't stress, in 35mm and 50mm there are more good choices than bad, you will have to try hard to not be satisfied.

Since you are unsure if you want 35 or 50, consider 40 as well.
Literally, there is no bad M-mount 40 around.

The problem with the 40 is the framelines. I myself, just want to keep it simple and get a kit of a 35 and 50, maybe a 90 sometime in the future.
That M2 is a good deal, but I have never been a fan of the collapsible.
So we will have to see where this takes me.
I think Canon might win over though, due to the 'get your feet wet' philosphy, and personally it hurts me sometime to put a budget on camera gear, it hurts me more to not too.
Sometimes I can't get over such a big drop of money on a piece of glass and a box.
