Leningrad 2 Meter

Purchased a Fed 3 and the camera came with a Leningrad 2 meter that is in good working condition with no instruction ( probably would have been in Russian and would be no use anyway).
My question is when do you postion the inner gold dial, is it when you use the diffuser
for slow speeds or what.
Thank guy for any help, with all the knowledgeable people on the list I'm sure someone will know.
Also have another Fed 3 coming from Alex photo, that will make camera # 6 in the last 2 months, 2 Zorki 4, 2 Zorki 4K and 2 Fed 3's this has to stop, but why I'm having to much fun with these cameras, plus they take great pictures.

Hi Bob,
The golden inner dial is to set the asa (film speed). Use normaly measure without the diffuser and match the needle with the arrow of the external dial.
I find it similar to some GE meters or the Gossen Sixtino (Pilot II).
It`s very pretty meter good for daylight shooting.
Not very good indoors.

My understanding is when the dial puts the internal sensor closest to the window in the end of the meter it is used with the diffuser for taking 'incident' readings. Take the diffuser off and retract the sensor and you are in 'reflective' mode.

I've always used my soviet meters in reflective mode and found them to be very useful outdoors but they don't do so well in low light. The Leningrad 2 would have to be the coolest looking of the soviet meters, I have several 😀

GEE, and you havent got a couple of Fed 2's , Zorki 1's , a Kiev or a Zorki3 yet!

I had a Zorki 1 that went south and will one of these days I'll replace it.
